SIREN STUDIOS
Bell Design Group was first engaged to create a master plan for this urban in-fill site, and was then engaged to bring the vision to reality through a mix of new construction, building renovations, interior design and programmatic development.
The Siren Studios Campus is an iconic piece of Sunset Boulevard in the heart of Hollywood. Situated amongst major stages, such as Sunset Gower Studios and Sunset Bronson Studios, it has helped spur development along this strip, which includes NeueHouse Hollywood, Emerson College, and Netflix.
After the main campus on Sunset Blvd. was completed, Siren Studios continued to expand and BDG designed subsequent stages, offices, and support spaces scattered throughout Hollywood.
In the center of Siren Studios is The Cube: a 13,000sf motion picture sound stage with an additional 3,000sf annex of support space. Designed as part of the Siren Studios master plan, the Cube is the crown jewel of the campus. With an exterior height of over 40ft and column-free interior, the building is the largest single-story concrete structure without beams in the Western Hemisphere. The interior trusses, with a clear finished height of 35’, can support over 10,000 LBS of rigging – enough to hang three cars at one time. The Cube is designed with the capability to shoot everything from high-end magazine advertisements and commercials to full-length feature films.
The rest of the Siren Studios campus holds two towers with productions offices and shooting facilities for magazines, televisions, commercials and other types of media and content. Included in the campus is a secured border, consideration for loading and trailer parking, catering services and other support spaces. At its public face is a beloved coffee shop, the Coffee Commissary, also designed by BDG.
