Anchor Hitch Restaurant

Anchor Hitch is a new-concept seafood restaurant that combines an oyster bar with Asian-infused tapas. Inspired by the chef-driven creations, and the bold collaborations with Los Angeles mural artists David Flores and Paul Nguyen, BDG designed a custom dining experience that brought to life underwater oyster farms. Part of that vision is a parametrically-designed partition wall, made of over 1,100 uniquely cut pipes that create a wave-like pattern. This installation spans from floor to ceiling and sets the tone as patrons make their way to the hostess stand upon entering the restaurant.

Bell Design Group created an abstracted underwater urban fantasy through custom design of every element in the restaurant space. With a Moiré abstract pattern of pipe sections emulating bubbles rising from the ocean, custom oyster cage pendant lights, custom industrial furniture, and graffiti street art, the eclectic mix of considered elements is combined to bring an edge to OC fine dining. For customers dining at the classic Carrera marble bar, there is a full height kitchen window showing the shucking of the oysters and preparation of the seafood delicacies.
