PROGRAM: Motel conversion into affordable housing via Project Homekey
THE Moonstone
As part of Project Homekey, this conversion of a motel to affordable housing with supportive services will provide private units for at least 20 people to call home. Located in a high-income area near the beach, this project provides much needed housing diversity to support the population. BDG worked with Century Housing to repair and upgrade the former motel, which included adding kitchenettes, providing accessibility and other code improvements, as well as exterior refinishing. The completed project improves an old building on the highly-trafficked Pacific Coast Highway, bringing homes and revitalization to this beachside community.
