The project originated from the necessity of creating a 10,000 square foot office space for Gates Ventures in Indian Wells. Situated within an existing building suite, the initiative stemmed from the requirement for a functional film studio to accommodate the surge in virtual media interviews necessitated by the pandemic. Embodied within the project is a design ethos encapsulated in the phrase 'Desert Minimalism'.
The layout of the office spaces adheres to an organic approach for partitioning throughout the project. A key focal point in the design process was the simplicity of finishing materials, textures, and furniture, ensuring a harmonious and comfortable ambiance conducive to positive "feng shui".
The offices are segregated into private and public wings. The private wing features the CEO's office, seamlessly connected to the executive officer's space, a private bathroom, closet, and a conference room. Additionally, a kitchenette is integrated into this private domain.
Conversely, the public wing boasts a spacious lounge with direct access from the reception area, accompanied by a kitchenette complete with a breakout room and booths. Adjacent to these amenities are the production offices and a stage area for filming, thoughtfully designed with a versatile set and a cyc wall for optimal filming conditions.
