We are looking for a full-time Project Architect to join our growing and fast-paced team in an architectural role focused on projects of varying scales and technical complexities. Project Architects are the leaders of developing architectural plans and will work hand-in-hand with Project Managers and the design team to create exceptional projects. A Project Architect should have extensive knowledge of the building process, from conceptual design through construction, and be able to apply architectural principles, practices and techniques consistently and with exploratory drive. The right person for this role will be an excellent communicator, strategic thinker and collaborative problem solver, as well as have significant experience in code analysis and detailing/documentation. A candidate needs to be able to work independently and collaboratively, with a passion for craft and an eye for detail and quality.
We are looking for someone that thrives in the multi-dimensional, problem-solving environment of our industry. This position is also expected to engage in the activities and advancement of the studio, as well as providing positive support, mentorship and training to junior staff.
This position is available at either our Los Angeles, Colorado Springs or Madrid offices.
Responsibilities
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Architecture
License required for Project Architect (unlicensed applicants will be considered for the title Project Captain II)
8-15+ years of experience for Project Architect / Senior Project Architect
Software experience required to include BIM, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite
ArchiCAD and AutoCAD experience is preferred
Ability to work both independently and in teams
Excellent organizational skills
Detailed and technical drafting skills
An astute eye for design sensibilities
Strong redlining skills to provide clear direction to teams
Knowledge of agency processing and code compliance
Attention to both detail and big-picture concepts
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects independently
Solid knowledge of codes, specs, engineering systems and construction methods

We are looking for a full-time Business Manager to join our growing firm. The Business Manager will be responsible for the financial oversight, operational efficiency, and administrative functions of the firm and its sister companies. This role bridges the gap between creative company management and business performance, with additional support as part of the leadership team. This position requires independent task management, foresight and proactive thinking, detailed and accurate work products, timeliness, a “positively aggressive” approach, and exceptional organization. Having a strong set of communication, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills is critical. The ideal candidate can work both independently and in teams, be resourceful and efficient, and can resolve issues and develop solutions. Tasks may range from analyzing accounting reports to organizing important meetings, or drafting legal paperwork to overseeing art installations. The Business Manager is a key player in leading the smooth management and growth of our vibrant studios.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
Manage budgets for each office location
Ensure completeness of time and expense reports across the company
Identify and problem-solve inaccuracies
Prepare and review financial reports, such as ledgers, budget comparisons, performance analyses, etc.
Coordinate with the Principals and operations team to monitor firm-wide financial performance
Bookkeeping/accounting, vendor and client invoicing, tax preparation, etc. is not part of this job
Operations & Administration
Support the successful administration of multiple entities
Manage vendors and corporate documentation
Coordinate with legal and HR consultants as needed
Oversee data entry, filing organization, drafting documents, administrative support staff, and miscellaneous items for daily operations
Business Development
Support marketing efforts on behalf of the Principals
Review published bids and identify potential opportunities
Maintain CRM systems and track leads and client engagement
Team Management
Manage employee records, on-boarding, vacation requests, etc.
Update employee handbook, schedule performance reviews, and other infrequent HR items as needed
Schedule studio events such as lunch and learns or volunteer trips
Foster a positive and productive office culture
Executive Support
Maintain Principal’s calendar; assist with tasks and tracking deadlines
Assist with documents and accounts for business and personal matters
Input time and expense reports
Administrative Support
Manage the physical office space, such as coordinating the cleaning crew, stocking the food pantry, ensuring cleanliness and organization, restocking supplies, etc.
Answer the phone, manage general company email accounts, receive packages, etc.

Bachelor’s degree and 7-10+ years experience in a related field, such as Business, Finance, Law, Professional Services, Architecture, Construction Management
A general knowledge of the Architecture and Construction industries is desired but not required
